In January of this year, Eric drove me high into the mountains one day to lift my spirits due to my health "challenges". I the snow. He stopped in one area off the road so I could get out and take a couple of shots. I have had these just sitting in a folder and never really thought about submitting any of the shots I took that day until recently with all the fires we've been having. Imagine this area burning. There are many areas right now like this that are burning up all around us and the smoke is filling our city to the point where we still can't leave the window open at night and early morning due to the wind shifting. So much smoke, little time to get out and do things.

Anyhoo...this is what we see in the valley all around us when we are driving, coming out of stores and such. We have mountains like this everywhere except to the south, so perhaps the title is wrong. Oh well.

The journey to from our home to this area is Whiskeytown National Park where I took all my Brandy Creek shots. These mountains are also a part of the park.
